The Need

Sgt. Ralph Land, a Vietnam veteran and Purple Heart recipient, was selected to receive a full roof replacement during a Veterans Day initiative honoring local veterans.

While serving in Vietnam, Sgt. Land was wounded twice — losing his left eye and sustaining shrapnel injuries to his head and neck. Following his service, he continued advocating for fellow veterans and served as president of the Vietnam Veterans of America chapter in the Nashville area.

Like many aging homes, his residence required roof replacement to maintain safety and structural stability.

The Project

In recognition of his service and sacrifice, a full roof replacement was completed at no cost to Sgt. Land.

The installation was performed in observance of Veterans Day as part of an annual effort to support veterans in need across Middle Tennessee.

The Impact

A new roof represents more than protection from the elements — it provides long-term stability and peace of mind.

For Sgt. Land, this project was not simply a home improvement. It was a gesture of gratitude, community support, and recognition of lifelong service.

Projects like this reflect the heart behind Force Cares Foundation — strengthening homes while honoring sacrifice.
